Ciatrick Fason, Founder Star Ready Athletes

Fason was one of the nation’s elite prep running backs at Fletcher High School. He gained consensus All-America recognition in 2001 from Parade, Prep Star and SuperPrep. National Bluechips, SuperPrep and Prep Star rated him one of the two top running backs in the country. He also earned prestigious Class 5A Mr. Football in Florida honors and was a four-time team MVP. Fason rushed for over 7,400 career yards and completed his career as the state of Florida’s fifth all-time leading rusher and tops in Northeast Florida history. He rushed for over 2,000 yards twice -1999 and 2001.
Fason was so intent on attending the University of Florida that he verbally committed on Signing Day 2001. He saw action in every game as a true freshman in 2002, and ranked second on the team in 2003. In 2004, Fason took over the starting tailback duties. He earned All-Southeastern Conference first-team honors from the Associated Press, as he led the conference in rushing. He had the sixth best single season rushing total in school history.
A model of consistency, Fason played in every game during his career (38), earning 15 starts. He became the first Florida runner to lead the Southeastern Conference in rushing since 1993. Fason is also only the seventh player in school history to rush for over 1,000 yards in a season.
Fason’s NFL career started in 2005, primarily as the Minnesota Vikings short yardage back. During his rookie year he carried 32 times for 62 yards and four touchdowns versus the Lions, Packers, Rams, and Bears.
Ciatrick currently dedicates his energy to the youth of today. He volunteers his time coaching football for local leagues, as well as personally trains aspiring star athletes. In addition to mentoring young men, Fason works diligently encouraging them to attain higher education while pursing football. Star Ready Athletes was founded in 2010. The company prides itself on placing top athletes with the best matched football programs in the country.
Courtney Ruffin, Vice President of Operations
Courtney Ruffin is a native of Atlantic Beach, FL where he attended Atlantic Beach Elementary, Mayport Middle and Fletcher Sr. High School. In high school Ruffin was a two year lettermen and standout varsity basketball player. As a senior, Ruffin’s varsity basketball team begin the season ranked number two in the state of Florida and finished the season as the regional runner-ups. Also as a senior, Ruffin was voted to the all-district team and traveled to Paris, France on a Jacksonville based all- star basketball team where he led his team to an international championship.
In 2005, Ruffin achieved a degree in Computer Information Science from Florida Metropolitan University. Ruffin has 14 years of corporate business management experience with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of FL. From 2000 to 2005, and 2007 to 2009, Ruffin coached basketball at the Bolles School. Beginning in 2011, Ruffin joined the Jacksonville Warriors AAU Basketball organization as a head coach where his team won its first Super Regional Tournament and qualified for nationals.
As Vice President of Star Ready Athletes and the Star Ready Athletic Association, Ruffin will aspire to drive both organizations in a direction which will allow for growth and develop of the minds and abilities of all athletes affiliated with our mission.

Robert Thomas, Director
Robert Thomas is a native of Atlantic Beach where he attended the local schools of Atlantic Beach. He graduated from Fletcher Sr. High School in 1999. In High School Robert was captain of the varsity football team his senior year in which he provided great leadership skills on and off the field. In his senior year of high school, he was nominated from faculty members of Fletcher High to attend a youth rally for the Jacksonville Urban League that recognized his academic and social accomplishments. He went on to pursue his college education from Florida Community College of Jacksonville and transferred to University of North Florida where he achieved his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in 2008. During Robert’s teaching career for Duval County Public School, he taught in the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice program for adjudicated youth delinquents in the county jail and at Tiger Serious Habitual Offender Program (SHOP). He went on to pursue a career at State Farm Insurance Co. where he is a great asset to the company. He volunteers at State Farm in the Junior Achievement program that helps prepare young people for the real world by showing them how to generate wealth, effectively manage it, and how to create jobs. Robert is very dedicated to volunteering and talking with the youth at community centers. He believes that our youth are our future and that they should always strive to further their education. As director of the Star Ready Athletic Association, Robert will ensure that the mentoring and educational needs of each youth will encounter for their success.
Christin Norris, Cheer Coordinator
Christin is the head coach of the Mayport Middle School Cheerleaders, the 2012 Cheersport 1st place winners and Grand Champions. She also cheered for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers exposing her to the creation of winning performances to escalate both the crowds and players on game day.
